Browns part ways with another 2022 draft pick that was a flyer selection from the start
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns are moving on from another member of their 2022 NFL Draft class.

According to NFL transactions, the Browns are moving on from G Dawson Deaton with a failed physical designation.

Deaton is the third member of the 2022 draft class to be waived by the Browns joining DT Perrion Winfrey and K Cade York. The Browns have since brought York back to their 90-man roster.

Deaton was a seventh-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. The late-round selection never appeared in a game for the Browns over two seasons. Deaton missed all of his rookie season with a torn ACL and this comes as his second time being waived by the Browns, who did the same last July.

In college, Deaton was a center before being moved to guard with the Browns. Cleveland added G Zak Zinter in the third round of the most recent draft and signed undrafted free agent Javion Cohen who could have a chance to make the roster.

Hitting on seventh-round picks is rare and that won’t be the case with the Browns and the 2022 NFL Draft.
