Jrue Holiday has funny take on Charles Lee’s new job

Top Boston Celtics assistant Charles Lee landed the Charlotte Hornets’ head coaching job, which was bittersweet news for most Celtics players.

Guard Jrue Holiday is certainly one of them, and he admitted he will be sad to see Lee go. However, his prediction for Lee’s future was outstanding, and he is looking forward to seeing him and beating him twice a year.

“To see him as a head coach and to beat him every time we play him, it’s going to be great,” Holiday said.

Lee will presumably have something to say about that, but Holiday’s stance will be echoed in the Boston locker room. Holiday is particularly familiar with Lee, as Lee was an assistant for six years with the Milwaukee Bucks before moving to Boston for this season.

Holiday is probably right that the Celtics might have the better of the Hornets, at least initially. Charlotte is coming off a 21-61 season, though they do have the likes of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller to build around.
